Long Arm Requirements and Prices

We reserve the right to refuse any quilt for long-arm quilting services at our discretion. Quilts may be declined for reasons including, but not limited to: excessive soiling or odors, structural issues that cannot be safely quilted, seams that are not properly pressed, backing or batting that does not meet our minimum requirements, or work that falls outside the scope of our services. If your quilt is declined, we will communicate our concerns clearly and, where possible, suggest corrective steps so we can serve you in the future. 

• Backing fabric must be at least 8” wider and 8” longer than the quilt top. If the backing does not meet this requirement, you will need to add leaders before drop-off.

• Trim all loose threads from the front and back of the quilt. Loose threads can shadow through or protrude from seams on the finished top.

• If your quilt top or backing is directional, or if centering is required, please pin a note indicating the correct orientation to the appropriate side before bringing it in.

• Consultation to select the best design, thread, and finishing options for your quilt. 

• Edge-to-edge pantograph quilting available in many levels of complexity, as well as free-motion, outlining, and echo quilting.

• Batting options include cotton, wool, bamboo, and polyester — priced per inch. You are also welcome to provide your own batting.

• Backing piecing service available. You must provide the appropriate yardage. If you purchase backing fabric from our shop, backing piecing is complimentary.

• All quilts are trimmed and squared to the edge of the quilt top upon completion, ready for binding — unless otherwise indicated on your order form.

• Binding services are available. Please refer to the price list for options and pricing.

• Machine basting service available for hand quilters, with rows spaced 4” to 6” apart. All standard preparation requirements apply.

• Photos of completed quilts may be used to showcase our work. If you prefer your quilt, not be photographed, please indicate this on your order form.

Quilting & Basting Pricing is per square inch (psi). Calculate your cost by 

multiplying width × height × price. Thread is included at no extra charge. There will be an additional charge for quilts with flanges.

Custom Design starts at          $0.04/psi

Basting (hand quilters)            $0.015/psi

Backing & Batting

• Backing must be at least 8" wider and 8" longer than your quilt top.
• Piecing fee: $10 — waived if you purchase your backing fabric from us.
• Batting is available in natural, white, and black cotton (80/20), wool,     bamboo, and polyester.      You're also welcome to bring your own.

Binding Pricing is per linear inch. Calculate your cost by adding the length of all four sides, then multiplying by the price.
